What does Strategic Distributors do?
We help brands get their products listed and sold directly to Amazon Vendor Central (1P). As a fully authorized Vendor Central distributor, we handle everything from listing creation and compliance to forecasting, logistics, and customer service—all while Amazon purchases the inventory from us and sells it themselves.
What does it cost to work with you?
We operate as a wholesale distributor—you sell us your product at an agreed wholesale price, and we handle everything else. There are no setup fees, commissions, or monthly charges.
You don’t pay us—Amazon does.
How does the process work?
- Submit your product information.
- We evaluate category fit, margins, and compliance.
- Once approved, we list your products via Vendor Central.
- Amazon issues a Purchase Order (PO) to us.
- We order from you and fulfill Amazon’s order.
- Amazon fulfills end customer orders.
We manage the entire process, including listings, logistics coordination, and compliance paperwork.
Will I handle returns when selling through your Vendor Central Distribution?
No. Amazon purchases from us, so returns don’t come back to you, ever.
Can I keep selling on Seller Central while trying out 1P with Strategic Distributors?
Absolutely. You maintain Seller Central sales while leveraging Vendor Central through us.
Do I need to be Brand Registered on Amazon?
No. One of the biggest advantages of working with Strategic Distributors is that we do not require Brand Registry. We can list and manage your brand’s products through our own Vendor Central account, bypassing the lengthy approval processes typically required.
What’s the difference between Vendor Central (1P) and Seller Central (3P)?

Vendor Central (1P) means Amazon buys your products wholesale and sells them to customers. Your listing says “Ships from and sold by Amazon.”

Seller Central (3P) means you sell directly to consumers through Amazon and handle fulfillment, pricing, support, etc.
Strategic Distributors operates in the 1P model — you sell to us, we sell to Amazon, Amazon sells to the customer.
Can I still control how my product is presented?
Yes—we collaborate with your team to ensure your listing content is accurate and optimized. Our goal is to enhance your brand’s presentation, not override it. We’ll never list a product without your knowledge or approval.
Do I ship product to Amazon or to Strategic Distributors?
All goods will be shipped to one warehouse, controlled by Strategic Distributors. We then ship to Amazon fulfillment centers based on the routing they determine for all POs.
Do you sell any restricted or gated products?
We follow Amazon’s category guidelines closely. We cannot list products in highly restricted or regulated categories (e.g., certain supplements, firearms, hazmat goods) unless we already have clearance. Contact us for specific category questions.
How do you handle chargebacks, shortages, or compliance fines?
We have systems in place to proactively manage Amazon’s compliance requirements. In most cases, we absorb or prevent chargebacks entirely—you are not liable for downstream Amazon compliance deductions when working through us.
Can you help grow our brand presence on Amazon?
Absolutely. Because we are a trusted Vendor Central distributor with access to dozens of categories and years of experience, we’re able to scale brands efficiently—including product expansion, cross-category listing, and PO growth strategies.
How fast can we get started?
If your product is retail-ready and your documentation is in order, we can go from introduction to listing within 7–14 business days, depending on category.
